Imagine thousands of glowing, shimmering jellyfish “swimming” in the heart of Athens, whispering a story. This is Medusa Valley, set to be the largest participatory interactive installation in Greece. It will be unveiled in central Athens this September, bringing the sea to the city’s heart to awaken us. It’s not just an impressive work of art; it’s a call for environmental awareness, a hands-on, collective experience brought to life through workshops and your participation!

The ADAF jellyfish, crafted from recycled plastics, aren’t just digital artworks combining art and technology. They’re silent messengers of climate change and plastic pollution—just like the real purple jellyfish proliferating in our seas. As you approach them, they react with light and sound, creating a stunning underwater world that invites you to explore it, offering an unprecedented experience.

The Workshop: Bring Your Own Medusa to Life!

Want to be part of this story? We invite you to the free Medusa Valley workshops, taking place at the Dimotiki Agora Kypselis (Kypseli Municipal Market).

In these workshops, you’ll have the unique opportunity to:

• Learn how to bring your own jellyfish to life: Using LEDs, sensors, and fiber optics, you’ll create your own luminous, interactive creature.
• Work under the guidance of Yiannis Kranidiotis: The artist and creator of the installation will be there to introduce you to the secrets of creation and guide you step-by-step.
• Become co-creators of a massive installation: Your jellyfish will become an integral part of Medusa Valley, the largest participatory interactive installation to be presented in central Athens in September 2025! Imagine your creation glowing in Syntagma Square, sending a collective message to the whole world.
